Latest update
Works are expected to start on Monday 16 March 2026 with anticipated completion by Thursday 14 May 2026, weather permitting.
The Department of Logistics and Infrastructure (DLI) is upgrading the existing streetlighting along Bagot Road from Nightcliff Road to the Bagot Road overpass at Stuart Highway.
This project is funded by the Australian and Northern Territory government under the road safety program.
These works will provide improved visibility along Bagot Road increasing public safety - particularly during low light conditions.
Works will commence in March 2026 and take approximately 4 to 6 weeks to complete.
Works will be undertaken between 7 am and 5 pm Monday to Saturday - subject to restricted working hours. Night works will be conducted between 7:30 pm and 6 am, as required.
Bagot Road will remain open throughout the works. Temporary lane closures and speed restrictions will apply that may cause minor delays.
Road users are asked to comply with all traffic management and signage in place.
