Corroboree Billabong pontoon

The Department of Logistics and Infrastructure (DLI) is constructing a pontoon at Corroboree Billabong.

The billabong is a popular fishing location and the installation of a pontoon will help reduce congestion and improve the efficiency and safety of people loading and unloading at the ramp.

Works include:

  • construction of the pontoon foundation
  • installation of the pontoon
  • gangway and associated signs
  • dumped rock for erosion protection.

The pontoon has been designed to withstand seasonal flooding at the billabong and can be used by recreational fishers and commercial tour operators. There is no fishing allowed from the pontoon.

The boat ramp will remain accessible with works taking place, from 7 am to 5 pm, Monday to Saturday.

Some disruptions to boat ramp and carpark users may be expected. All efforts will be made to reduce temporary construction impacts.

Works began in early October 2026, with foundation and rock protection works expected to be completed first. Installation of the gangway and pontoon will occur later in 2026, weather permitting.

The department appreciates your patience and flexibility during construction.
