Litchfield National Park car park resealing
The Department of Logistics and Infrastructure (DLI) is undertaking works in Litchfield National Park to reseal 3 car parking areas.
The car parks are located at:
- Wangi Falls
- Tolmer Falls
- Tjaetaba Falls.
Litchfield National Park is a major Top End tourist attraction located approximately 90 minutes from Darwin and receives around 260,000 visitors a year.
Resealing is taking place as part of the DLI Northern Reseal Program which will extend the life of the pavement, and improve the access, safety and functionality for all visitors.
To ensure a safe and timely completion, Tolmer Falls and Tjaetaba Falls car parks will be closed during works with no access for day visitors. Wangi Falls will have partial closure to the car park with limited access for day visitors.
Works will occur on weekdays on one site at a time to allow park visitors and tourism operators access to alternative attractions and camping facilities, with each location opening as soon as practicable once finished.
All road users are advised to take caution during these works and comply with any access road closures in place.
Litchfield Park Road will remain open at all times.
