Maningrida Aerodrome perimeter fencing upgrade

The Department of Logistics and Infrastructure (DLI) is installing a new secure boundary fence at the Maningrida Aerodrome, Arnhem Land.

The current fencing has deteriorated over time and will be replaced with a 1.8m high and approximately 4,150m long boundary fence.

Works include:

• clearing of vegetation and other obstacles
• restoration of ground
• installation of posts, gates and fencing along the identified perimeter.

The new fencing works will be carried out in such a way that the aerodrome remains operational and secure during construction.

The new fencing will ensure a safe perimeter and secure the aerodrome from stray animals and unauthorised access.

There will be no impact on air services to Maningrida.

Works are expected to begin in late October and be complete by December 2026, weather permitting.
