The department is planning for future upgrades at the Schwarz Crescent and Stuart Highway intersection.

The $10.8 million intersection upgrade, funded by the Australian Government and Northern Territory Government, will improve safety for vehicles and pedestrians.

The scope of works include:

• realignment of Schwarz Crescent to the existing Smith Street/Stuart Highway intersection, creating a 4-way signalised intersection
• inclusion of safe pedestrian crossings in all directions at the new traffic lights
• closure of the existing section of Schwarz Crescent next to the Stuart Highway.

This project is progressing through the planning stages. The department continues to work with relevant parties to finalise outstanding matters.
