Social Housing Accelerator Payment

The Australian Government has committed $50 million to deliver up to 100 new social and accessible homes across the Territory under the Social Housing Accelerator Payment.

The $50 million investment is funded by the Australian Government and is being delivered by the Northern Territory Government.

These homes will be built to adaptable standards, enabling seniors and people with mobility issues to continue living in the same home as they age.

11 new homes across Darwin and Tennant Creek have been completed to date.

From 30 June 2025 to 1 July 2026, the Northern Territory Government awarded multiple contracts totalling $27.30 million for the delivery of 41 new homes.

These contracts engage several local contractors to carry out the above works, including:

• Blueprint NT Pty Ltd
• Centrebuild Pty Ltd
• C&R Construction Pty Ltd.

The homes are anticipated to be delivered between July 2026 and June 2027 in the following locations:
