Social Housing Accelerator Payment

The Australian Government has committed $50 million to deliver up to 100 new social and accessible homes across the Territory under the Social Housing Accelerator Payment.
The $50 million investment is funded by the Australian Government and is being delivered by the Northern Territory Government.
These homes will be built to adaptable standards, enabling seniors and people with mobility issues to continue living in the same home as they age.

Top End
The Northern Territory Government fast tracked the build of the first 8 homes across Rapid Creek, Tiwi and Wanguri – each site featuring a 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom home.
Works began in October 2024 and were completed in July 2025, by contractor C&R Constructions.
Construction of the next 6 homes is expected to begin in October 2025, with completion anticipated by mid-2026.
Multiple local contractors have been engaged for the work, including Greenspace Group Pty Ltd and DICE (Aust) Pty Ltd.
Big Rivers
Construction of 9 homes in Katherine East are expected to begin in October 2025, with completion anticipated by mid-2026.
Multiple local contractors have been engaged for the work, including Dice (Aust) Pty Ltd and Katherine Construction Pty Ltd.
Barkly
Construction of 3 homes is expected to begin in October 2025, with completion anticipated by mid-2026.
Local contractor Centrebuild Pty Ltd has been engaged for the work.
Central Australia
Construction of the 6 homes is expected to begin in October 2025, with completion anticipated by mid-2026.
Local contractor Blueprint (NT) Pty Ltd has been engaged for the work.
