Stuart Highway and Bees Creek Road intersection upgrade
The Department of Logistics and Infrastructure (DLI) is upgrading the Stuart Highway and Bees Creek Road intersection at Freds Pass.
The works will enhance road safety and improve the overall usability of the intersection for all vehicles.
Works include:
- converting the existing Stuart Highway left-turn into Bees Creek Road to a full deceleration slip lane
- upgrading the Stuart Highway right-turn lane into Bees Creek Road
- upgrading street lighting at the intersection
- existing culvert extension at the intersection
- minor adjustments to the horizontal and vertical geometry to suit the new deceleration slip lane
- road safety barriers.
Works are expected to begin from 31 August and be completed by 19 December 2026, weather permitting.
