The Northern Territory Government in partnership with the Australian Government is constructing a new overpass at the Tiger Brennan Drive and Berrimah Road intersection.

The project is being jointly delivered to improve road safety outcomes, reduce traffic delays during peak hours and increase the flow of traffic for freight connectivity at this intersection.

The new overpass carries Berrimah Road traffic over Tiger Brennan Drive, separating the major flow of traffic on Tiger Brennan Drive from the traffic movements on Berrimah Road.

The construction tender for this project was awarded to local company Sitzler in August 2021.

Phase one of the construction works commenced on 8 October 2022, which included the closure of Berrimah Road between Tiger Brennan Drive and Marlow Road on 10 March 2023.

Phase two of the construction works commenced on 25 November 2023 when Berrimah Road was closed between Tiger Brennan Drive and Wishart Road.

The Tiger Brennan Drive and Berrimah Road overpass is fully operational as of Wednesday 16 April 2025.

Final works are expected to be completed by May 2025, weather permitting. The final works include:

  • shared user paths
  • final landscaping
  • emergency services access into the Hidden Valley motorsports complex.
