Respect Your Driver - Campaign materials

Respect Your Driver (bus)

The Respect Your Driver (for bus) campaign was launched on 29 March 2019 at TIO Stadium by the former Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics and local bus operators Buslink and Territory Transit.

The campaign aims to raise awareness of appropriate behaviour when travelling on public transport and interacting with bus drivers by personalising the stories of local bus drivers and reminding passengers that they are just like them: they just want to do their job and go home to their families safe and happy.

Campaign ambassadors from Recording Artists, Actors & Athletes Against Drink Driving (RADD) include local NT AFL stars Shannon Rioli, Ben Rioli, Phillip Wills, Lauren O’Shea and Amy Chittick.

Posters and stickers with the key messages “Respect is a Two-Way Street”, “A Little Bit of Respect Goes a Long Way” and “Your Driver Deserves a Fair Go” have been rolled out on buses, at bus stops and at interchanges across the network in Darwin and Alice Springs.

TV, social media and radio advertisements are also featured across selected TV channels and radio stations as well as the Department and RADD web pages. These materials can be found below.

Respect Your Driver (taxi and minibus)

The Respect Your Driver (for taxi and minibus) campaign was launched on 5 November 2019, encouraging Territorians to behave appropriately when using a taxi or minibus service.

The campaign is an important initiative to improve relationships and interactions between passengers and drivers in the Territory.

The integrated campaign was developed in consultation with the taxi and minibus industry and features a series of social media videos and posts; radio advertising; outdoor advertising and educational material incorporated into road safety presentations to Territory school students. These materials can be found below.
