MXGP World Championships
The 2025 MXGP World Championships was held in Darwin 19-21 September, with the Department of Logistics and Infrastructure helping to lay the foundation for the event.
The event was broadcast to over 100 countries and saw competitors from around the world compete on a purpose-built track at Hidden Valley.
The department worked with contractors and Northern Territory Major Events to deliver headworks including the base track works, a new MXGP pitlane, dedicated spectator areas, accessible paths, plumbing and electrical works, and a new stormwater drainage system.
The event will continue to be hosted in Darwin each year till 2029.
