Seeking volunteers for ‘Super Tuesday’ bike counts

Published

Register to become a volunteer and be part of a national bike count known as ‘Super Tuesday’.

Since 2011, volunteers across the Territory have been counting bikes as part of a national bike count known as ‘Super Tuesday’. The count is undertaken annually by volunteers throughout Australia and is organised by Bicycle Network on behalf of local councils and government agencies. The count provides valuable data to monitor the impacts of active transport policy and prioritise planning of the Territory’s shared paths. Results from the previous years are available on the Bicycle Network website.

The NT bike counts will take place at over 65 sites in:

  • Darwin, Palmerston and Katherine on Tuesday 29 July, 6:30 am – 8:30 am
  • Tennant Creek and Alice Springs on Tuesday 2 September, 7am – 9am

All volunteer counters receive either a $70 credit towards a Bicycle Network membership or donation towards any nominated charity, school, sports club or not-for-profit organisation.

Register to become a volunteer now or email transport.cycling@nt.gov.au.
