Taxi fare increase
The Department of Logistics and Infrastructure has completed a review of taxi fares across the Northern Territory.
On Friday 22 May 22, taxi fares will increase by 2.5% in line with the Australian Consumer Price Index (CPI).
The increase will only apply to the distance rate:
- tariff 1 – day rate from 6am to 6pm
- tariff 2 – night rate from 6pm to 6am, it also applies on weekends and public holidays.
The increase will provide stability to members of the taxi industry and balance affordability for the travelling public.
